Tyrese's New Single 'Stay' and Album 'Open Invitation'

Ok everyone, awesome news! Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson, best known for his roles as Epps in ‘Transformers’ and Roman in the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise, recently announced that he’s releasing an all new album on November 11th entitled ‘Open Invitation’. His single ‘Stay’ has also received a lot of press recently, especially after a teaser trailer was distributed officially across the internet. So where is this going? And what does it have to do with me?

Earlier this week, Tyrese tweeted that anyone who wrote a blog should contact him, with a select few in with the chance to receive an official press release, a link to the full ‘Stay’ video and a host of album artwork. Guess what? I was one of the few! *high five* Below you’ll find the links to the video and artwork as well as iTunes links to ‘Stay’ and a unique collaboration with Ludacris entitled ‘Too Easy’. Enjoy!

The King and the Cadillac

So, last night before I went to bed I was listening to some amazing Elvis tunes on YouTube. There’s a very good reason he’s referred to as ‘the King’: the sheer energy and soul he put into his music is obvious even thirty four years after his death. As most people know, Elvis had a large collection of Cadillacs, one of which was reputedly gold plated (as if a standard Cadillac isn’t heavy enough!) Then today I went to a classic car show and happened upon a big, beautiful boat of a Cadillac. Coincidence? I think not.

Cadillacs of yesteryear may be frowned upon nowadays, for their inconsiderate fuel consumption and their sheer size and bulk, but that is exactly the reason why they’re so appealing. Humour me for a while; imagine burbling through the peak time traffic on a hot summer’s day, with two friends in the front, another three in the back, the climate control and leather upholstery keeping you comfortable while the laid back conversation provides the entertainment; or perhaps a night time drive alone on a wide open stretch of road, with nothing to pierce the darkness but the graceful Caddy’s halogens and nothing to pierce the silence but Elvis’ crooning as it winds its way into the atmosphere from inside the bowels of the eight – track. What an experience that would be, right?

The point of this post? Everyone should buy an electric 60s / 70s Cadillac. Or something.

Hmmm.

A Lack of Any Political Motivation..

Hi everybody! Welcome to the first post which is actually about something on this blog. I was thinking of what to write last night when I saw the status of a friend on Facebook. She often writes politically motivated anecdotes, pertaining to the government, the economy, welfare, war – you get the idea. I certainly admire her political motivation, although at the same time I’m a little concerned about my distinct lack of any...
Sure I vote; I’d like to think that I have some say in what happens in the country, even if that say only counts for a miniscule percentage of the overall figure. Still, outside of election periods I can’t find any motivation to think or talk politics at all. What’s the point? I hate to sound pessimistic, but once the elections are over we’re just along for the ride.
The only advice I have? Buckle up and hold on – and think carefully about who you’ll vote for in a few years time. In the interim, weather the storm as best you can, forget about the mess and try to enjoy the important things like spending time with loved ones. That’s what really matters.

Welcome!

Hi everyone! I’m Jamie and I currently write for a couple of online blogs, the most popular of which can be found at http://www.netcars.com/blogs/jamie-simpson-the-slipstream/74/. However, I have many other interests besides cars; mainly films, television, video games, music and anything World War II. For this reason, I’ve created this little corner of the internet as a place to showcase some of the more interesting pieces of information I find; pieces of information that simply don’t belong anywhere else.I hope you enjoy!
