Back on Track!

Hello all! I thought I should update this blog again since it lost its way a little after the first two entries. I thought it was nice that my request to Tyrese’s people for information on his album received a reply (several replies, in fact); I thought it might encourage more people to visit the blog. Unfortunately, as much as I enjoy his films, all it did was transform (pardon the inherent pun) my page into a Tyrese fan site. Oh dear.
So, in my efforts to get back on track I thought I should talk about what I’ve been up to. Mainly I’ve been writing more blog posts for www.netcars.com, which you can find here –

I’ve also been doing a little bit of commissioned work for www.whatculture.com, a blog about films, television and video games. It’s good fun; be sure to check out my first entry here –

Aside from that I’ve also been doing some more work on my ____. I’ve called it a ____ because if I called it an ‘extended essay’ it’d sound boring and if I called it a ‘book’ it’d sound a lot more refined than it currently is. Long story short, I wrote my dissertation about the role of the 1st Battalion of the Suffolk Regiment during the Normandy Landings of 1944. Seeing as there was very little written about it already - three books at most dedicated to the subject and small references in only a couple of others - most of my research came from studying documents in the Bury St. Edmunds Record Office. After finishing uni I got it into my head that I’d do more to expand on this topic, following the Battalion from Dunkirk to Germany, although I’m now just about realising how much work that’s going to be. Still, it’ll no doubt keep me occupied and may well produce an interesting read by the end, so I might as well give it a shot. I may well update my progress on here from time to time, so if you’re interested to see how I’m getting on you know where to look!
